CONGRATULATIONS!

A PREGNANCY IS DECLARED POSITIVE!

Gynesys is a medical team of gynecologists as well as family doctors who specialize in obstetrical follow-ups.

The clinic follows-up with RAMQ patients. We can also follow-up with those who aren’t ** and those who are in Quebec for childbirth.

At Gynesys, we know that your pregnancy is wanted more than anything else and that after experiencing fertility treatments the mother-to-be may be more comfortable being followed by the team that supported her throughout her journey. For the patient who has had fertility treatments with Gynesys, we offer pregnancy follow-ups.

Once a pregnancy is declared positive, the medical personnel may request additional blood work to see the progression of the pregnancy hormone (BHCG).
The BHCG blood test can be done by us* or at a hospital. An endovaginal ultrasound is done around the seven week mark of pregnancy to measure fetal craniocaudal length (LCC), so that we can see and hear the fetal heart and confirm gestational age.

ONCE THE PREGNANCY IS DECLARED VIABLE AND YOUR DUE DATE IS CONFIRMED, YOUR FOLLOW-UPS WILL BEGIN!

Pregnancy follow-ups are covered by RAMQ.* Our team is affiliated with the Centre Hospitalier of St. Mary. Medical follow-ups take place in the Gensys offices, morphology and growth ultrasounds (second and third trimester), as well as blood tests associated with pregnancy, take place at the hospital.

The doctor will discuss the next steps during your follow-up appointment: Trisomy 21 screening, blood tests and obstetrical follow-up ultrasounds.

(*Follow-ups taking place at the clinic are covered under the RAMQ except for ultrasounds and laboratory exams.)
